After submitting the application we will see if we think it meets the expectations. If it does then it will be posted on the Profiles forum. This will have all of the accepted students and teachers. If you do not see your application in the Profiles forum that means it's in this forum. This means that there are a few things that we'd like you to correct. Correct them and let us know that you have and we will recheck it. These posts will last only three weeks, unless you have a valid excuse to why you haven't posted before the three weeks.

| The Grounds
The sprawling grounds of Hogwarts are a great place to spend your free time. Sprawling green lawns that surround the castle and enchanted so that no muggle can see them, they are also protected with wards so that no one can apparate into them.

| The Lake
A large lake located to south of the castle, that seperates Hogwarts from the village of Hogsmeade. A giant squid is said to swim in its murky depths, as well as a few other magical aquatic creatures. In the winter, it's a nice place for a skate, and when it's warm enough it's a quite pleasant swim. Mind the Grindylows.

| The Whomping Willow
The Whomping Willow is a very valuable, rare tree that is planted in the middle of the school grounds. It was planted only seven years ago, for uncertain reasons. It has a very violent nature, and when anyone approaches it swings its massive branches and attacks them.

| The Forbidden Forest
To the west of Hogwarts Castle is a large, dark forest. This forest is strictly off limits to Hogwarts students, except in the course of occasional Care of Magical Creatures lessons or detentions. The forest is thick with trees of all varieties, including beech, oak, pine, sycamore, and yew, as well as undergrowth such as knotgrass and thorns but there are paths, brooks, and some clearings. Off the path, the way is almost impassable. It is home to many dark creatures.

| The Quidditch Pitch
A large oval-shaped pitch on the Hogwarts grounds. At each end of the pitch there are three hoops of different levels, and the pitch is surrounded by stands for spectators to watch the game from. There are four towers, each representing one of the houses at each corner, as well as a fifth tower which is used by teachers and special guests of the school. Each house has a quidditch team which plays the other houses throughout the year in hopes of eventually winning the Quidditch Cup.

| Potions Classroom
Located in one of the dungeons, the Potions classroom is colder than the rest of the castle – you can even see your breath in the room during the winter months. Large enough to accommodate roughly twenty cauldrons, the walls are lined with jars dilled with pickled animals and various other grotesque potential potion ingredients. Icy cold water pours from a gargoyle’s mouth into a basin in the far corner by the Professor’s desk, and the main ingredient store is located in a large walk-in cabinet at the back of the classroom.

| The Kitchens
The kitchens are located right beneath the Great Hall. They have high ceilings and a great brick fireplace at one end. Mounds of brass pots and pans are heaped around the walls. There are preparation tables directly below the four house tables in the Hall above, and when the time comes for the food to be served, it is magically transported through the ceiling of the kitchen onto the plates. The kitchens are staffed by a large number of house elves, who are always eager to make food for students who find themselves there.

| The Entrance Hall
A large cavernous room lit by torches with a ceiling so high it's barely visible. The Entrance Hall has two double oak front doors, opening to the grounds, with a wide marble staircase opposite the front doors leading up to the first floor. On each side of the main staircase are stairs leading to the dungeons or the Hufflepuff common room. The Entrance Hall is a good place to meet friends before meals, speak more privately than if one were in the Great Hall. Peeves often causes the most ruckus here.

| The Great Hall
A large hall to the left of the Entrance Hall, the ceiling has been bewitched to mirror the sky outside. There are fout long tables for each of the houses, with the staff table on a raised platform at the front. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here, as well as balls and duelling clubs.

Where injured or sick students rest and are healed by the school's nurse. The entire room smells clean and of muggle disinfectant, and is filled with white cots that are seperated by privacy screens. The nurse's office and medical supplies are stored in a small room off to the left.

| The Library
The library at Hogwarts contains tends of thousands of books on its many book shelves. Books are divided into sections retaining to topic, such as an Invisibility Section, a section with information about dragons, and a Restricted Section at the back, set off with a rope. A note from a teacher is required for access to the Restricted Section. The library is a nice place for students to study quietly, looking up information for essays and assignments. The library closes at 8pm.

Protected by a picture of a mermaid on the wall, this bathroom is for Prefect-use only. It is made of white marble, with a huge pool-like tub in the center of the floor and a hundred taps giving water plus various bubble baths or foams.

Located on the seventh floor, the Room of Requirement is a magical room which can only be discovered by someone who is in need. Therefore, it's quite useful if you're looking for a place to escape Filch, or for some privacy.

| The Owlery
Located at the top of the West Tower, the Owlery is a circular stone room, rather cold and drafty, because none of the windows have glass in them. The floor is constantly covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles. The owls of students and teachers, as well as tired post owls resting before returning to their owners stay here. It's a quiet place to think or write a letter.
